Objectives

Project’s contribution to the objectives of the call

The project addresses the general objectives of the call in many ways:

  • It improves the quality of HE in third countries not associated with the Programme and enhances its relevance for the labour market and society;
  • It improves the level of competencies, skills and employability potential of students in the third countries not associated with the Programme by introducing innovative elements in the existing curriculum and implementing innovative learning and teaching methods;
  • It encourages twin Green & Digital transition by building alliances within the European continent for sustainable growth and better employability in the multi – regions;
  • It fosters innovation in HE approaches to learning and teaching, by encouraging the dialogue with enterprises on a common field of interest, and enhancing the commitment of academia towards an interdisciplinary approach to a Green & Digital future;
  • It contributes to the exchange of information and visions between educational institutions and the job market, encouraging mutual understanding and facilitating the co-creation of innovative educational strategies to help future workers meet the challenge posed by the digital economy;
  • It addresses and contributes to tackling actual and future skill mismatches and skill shortages, leveraging the ability to understand the interrelation between Green & Digital transition;
  • It will support a successful green and sustainable global economic recovery in the third countries not associated to the Programme.

Green Deal and Sustainable Growth and Jobs are both Overarching Priorities of the European Commission for this 2 regions.

Specific Objective 1: To identify emerging skills needs for the green & digital transition (demand side) and how HEIs in Europe, Western Balkan and Sub – Saharan Africa Countries (with specific reference to following the competency framework for the green & digital transition with specific reference to Kenya contexts) correspond to those needs (supply side).

Specific Objectives 2: To define directions for developing the competence-oriented learning ecosystem following the competency framework for the green & digital transition with specific reference to Kenya and WB Countries contexts.

Specific Objectives 3: To design and develop the competency-oriented curriculum model as a pull of modular courses built around the talent triangle (green skills of the future, digital skills of the future, and business acumen), which can be composed to realize different learning paths. The curriculum model will be innovative in terms of content (key competencies and transversal skills), structure (modular) and teaching/learning methods.

Specific Objectives 4: To design and develop an eLearning ecosystem that integrates innovative instructional design approaches and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), which will be available to the public free of charge through open licenses (Open Educational Resources – OER).
